Tyler Jennings — Our Founder’s Promise
Black Office began with a small boy named Khalil and a dad who loved him beyond words. Tyler and Khalil shared a pure joy for music and making videos,simple moments in front of a camera, tiny beats tapped out on a table, and the kind of laughter that stays ringing in your heart. Those memories are the light that guides everything we build here.
When Khalil was just two years old, Tyler lost his son to medical malpractice. There are pains that never fully leave, and this is one of them. For a while, time felt heavy—every song, every clip, every quiet room reminding him of the sound that went missing. But Tyler made a vow: if Khalil couldn’t stay, his spirit would. Not just in photos—in the work.
So Tyler channeled his grief into purpose. He built Black Office to amplify Black voices, protect creative freedom, and teach kids the skills that open doors—media, music, and technology. He turned pain into a promise to the next generation: you matter, your voice matters, and your future matters.
Khalil’s favorite song was “L‑O‑V‑E” by Nat King Cole. We play it here so anyone who visits can feel a piece of the light he brought into every room.
What Black Office Does
- Amplify Black voices: safe, bold spaces for culture-shaping conversations and shows.
- Teach Youth Tech: podcasting, audio engineering, video editing, cameras, livestreaming, design, web, coding.
- Build Shared Spaces: a studio and office where creators and kids learn, produce, and thrive together.
- Create Opportunity: mentorship, real workflows, and pathways into media and tech careers.

We are planning a public space where every structure makes music. Imagine play sculptures that ring like bells, stepping paths that thump a bassline, wind panels that sing softly, and benches that resonate when a child leans back. It’s play, it’s healing, it’s art and it teaches rhythm, physics, and joy.
